How long can someone live with terminal breast cancer?

- Chosen by Voters Well, all cancers are potentially and eventually "terminal". They never really go away and can always resurface and cause a patient to die.Not quite sure why they called hers termianl and two years later she's not "terminated". Also not sure what was diagnosed at the time. Was the cancer just in her breast tissue or had it affected other organs too?If it was just the breast tissue, it can't be called terminal. Most breast CA patients live a rather healthy life for years to come, if the cancer has not spread elsewhere, specially liver, lung, or bone. 4 years ago 100% 1 Vote

If they cure breast cancer, will they make the cure free or discounted because of all the donation?

They are not going to find a cure. Too many people are employed in the research of this disease, and too many companies are making money from the drugs and the treatment for this disease.Contemplate if you will how many researchers and labs will be out of business if a cure was found. And if you still doubt it, watch a little movie, or read the book it was based on called And the Band Played On. It's all about money and prestige, has nothing to do with curing people. 2 years ago 5 people rated this as good Genuis as always!

After reading an article about breast cancer, is this a good blog entry?

- Chosen by Voters Sorry, but I don't think it is a very good blog. It suggests that people get breast cancer through their own fault and that it is possible to stay away from the disease. And your last sentence really doesn't make much sense. 2 months ago 100% 1 Vote 1 person rated this as good

Does anyone know how many grades there are when diagnosing breast cancer?

- Chosen by Voters The first answer confuses grade with stage – grade refers to how the cancer looks under the microscope, stage refers to the size of the tumour and the extent of the spread..There are three breast cancer gradesGrade I – cancer cells resemble normal cells and are not growing rapidly Grade 2 – cancer cells have features between grades I and 3 Grade 3 – cancer cells look more abnormal and may grow or spread more aggressively So yes, grade 3 is the most serious. But this doesn't mean it's untreatable. There are no guarantees, but I had grade 3 breast cancer and am fit and well with no evidence of cancer almost five years after diagnosis, having had surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy.Your friend – and you – may be interested in these sites; they have loads of information (especially the first one) and forums where you can talk to people who are or have been in the same situation, and read others' experiences of breast cancer and treatment. I don't know what I would have done without online support forums in those dark days after diagnosis or during treatmenthttp://www.breastcancer.orghttp://www.breastcancercare.org.uk 3 years ago 100% 1 Vote 1 person rated this as good

Is is possible to develop breast cancer at fifteen? What are symptoms of having breast cances?

The chances of a 15 year old developing breast cancer are as close to zero as makes just about no difference. If it happened, her case would make headline news and be written up in medical journals the world over.Breast cancer is almost unheard of in under 25s (let alone teens), fewer than 0.1% of all those diagnosed with it are under 30, only 5% are under 40 and most (80%) are over 50.When I was diagnosed with breast cancer I was classed as a 'younger woman'; I was 50.Most breast lumps, even in women over 50, aren't cancer. At your age, with your breasts still growing and developing, any changes you notice in your breasts is almost certainly normal hormonal development. No, drowsiness is not a symptom of breast cancer; and most people diagnosed with breast cancer have felt no pain at all.Your grandmother having had breast cancer does not mean you have breast cancer 'in your genes'; only 5 – 10% of all breast cancer cases are hereditary, and breast cancer that is diagnosed after the age of 50 is even less likely to be hereditary.A single case of breast cancer in your family is not hereditary; a sign that breast cancer MAY be hereditary is when several members of the same side of a family have had it, especially if some developed it at a younger than usual age. From the information you've given, you're not at any increased risk of breast cancer. And even in the rare cases where breast cancer 'runs in the family', the chances of a 15 year old developing it would still be almost zero.Talk to your mother about this. If you don't feel comfortable doing that, talk to your school nurse; she will be used to girls having worries like this and will be able to reassure you 2 years ago 3 people rated this as good Thank you for your information! It has made me less nervous about this.
