Hi honey, I sorry about your mam but this can take a long time to get over. I had mine removed in 1992 had reconstructive surg. 1996 but was on tamoxifen for 12 years. I've just heard of a great natural drink which has helped one of the girls I went through treatment with . It's called SNOW FUNGUS. I know it sounds delightful but she was told the cancer she had could not be cured so she had nothing to loose and she in her desperation has tried this. Now on her 3 mth. check up they have found her red and white blood cells have improved considerably. You mam might see a difference in her short term memory. She may be affected in her long term memory. This I found was a side effect of tamoxifen. Once I stopped taking it everything started coming back. Tell her to be patient as it can be really frustrating. Most Dr.s only prescribe the drug for a max. of 5 years. I was long because I got Lymphodema. Take care of her and just be extra careful of her feelings. She is bound to be feeling very low. I'm afraid that.s a symptom not a side effect. Just ask yourself how would you feel.
