Local woman's organizations, Colleges, Hospitals, Any local business, It requires a letter send to the businesses with a followup call to find sponsors. I think family history should be a big consideration since that does greatly increase one's risk. Yearly mammograms are recommended for all women starting at around 35-40, but if you have one or more family members who have had breast cancer or ovarian cancer you should start sooner. Monthly self exams should really start at puberty if for no other reason than to just get to know what is normal for your body and because many young women develop cysts. 4 years ago great. but don not forget other risk factors as well. i've heared that also mammography can increase the risk of cancer. however, there's something called themography which is better than mamography nowadays. have you heared about it?!

- Chosen by Voters The jury is not out regarding the link between hormones and breast cancer, as there is a proven link. However, orgasm does not increase your risk to any cancer in any way. Our bodies were designed to have orgasms and we would not be designed this way if it were bad for us. Besides I would have been dead long ago if this were true.I am not aware of any studies proving it decreases our chances of getting cancer, but there have been studies showing that it does improve our physical and mental health. But the only sensible thing to do is show it to your doctor and get a professional opinion. - Chosen by Voters Positive, cheerful thoughts! So many things are made in pink for b.c. awareness, and some of them really tickled me how creative they were and how thoughtful. Pink m&ms, really? Cool! Cancer patients appreciate good, sunny days full of good food, drinks, pets, family, knowing money is plentiful for all the bills, and pretty & bright flowers to cheer up a blah day. Make every step in the game something positive and fun. I always kept my sense of humor and never let myself think I wouldn't make it through all that crappy treatment, and I survived a very bad case. At age 48, you should be evaluated by your primary care physician as soon as convenient. There is not a huge rush. Anytime in the next few weeks should be OK. People think that breast cancers just jump up in days. Most have been developing for years before the lump is found. The bruise is not a sign of breast cancer – but the new lump "could" be. Do not ignore this for six months as so many women do.
