Can you refuse breast cancer treatment?

You can refuse treatment pretty much everywhere. The exceptions might be the mentally ill or retarded. It is likely that her doctors would recommend counselling with a psychiatrist. The other responder had it about right, rot and stink. But before that she would be able to live normally for a time. Some cancers will spread to other organs before they do a skin break through. Bones are a common one with breast cancer – spine, hips and ribs are the most usual and crippling fractures may result – then the person would be disabled. 2 years ago 3 people rated this as good Thank you very much :]

Breast Cancer?

All of us have a risk of getting breast cancer, male and female. There is more than one type of breast cancer, one can have a genetic link. If your parent or sibling has the genetically linked breast cancer, you are of higher risk.Even if you are in a low risk category, you should perform a self examination monthly and breast examination should form a part of your regular Dr checkups.Once you reach age 50, a mammagram should be performed anually.Under age 50, ultrasound exams are better than ammagrams, but are generally only performed if you fall into a high risk category, or are showing possible symptoms. 5 years ago 1 person rated this as good ok

How long can an elderly person live with breast cancer without seeking any treatment?

It depends on what kind of breast cancer it is and how advanced it was when she realized it, but in general it would be between 2-4 years. If this person was recently diagnosed with an advanced breast cancer and is reluctant to be treated, I would suspect she has known for sometime and has tried to keep it from her family. I know it may be hard to understand, but it does happen. Source(s): I am a cancer registrar. 3 years ago thanks

- Chosen by Voters Typically the nodes are removed only if a biopsy shows cancer in one or more. If even one node is positive, they remove all the nodes in the region. 4 years ago 100% 1 Vote

Which is true about breast cancer exams?

I find it interesting that a Government Panel with not one single oncologist is making recommendations on Women's health. That same panel, six months ago, was alarmed that the rate of mammograms was going down.Who do you want in charge of your health?I want to listen to my doctor and the government and insurance companies should stay out of it. Government health care is NOT the answer. Source(s): /// 2 years ago 6 people rated this as good 1

Breast Cancer?

Yes, men can get breast cancer. If you have any concern, please see your physician.I am a female currently being treated for breast cancer. I had no symptoms… just showed up on my annual mammo. So, if you have any pain, dimpling of tissue, a family history… see a doctor and play it safe! What are the chances of a breast cancer recurrence? and survival rate?

- Chosen by Voters There are lots of statistics out there, but I hate to try and go by that because everyone is different. There are so many factors that go into each case. I was diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma last year. On the mammogram it appeared to be 1.5 cm, but by the time I had the tumor removed it was 2.5 cm. I am also her2+ and Er/Pr+. I chose to have a mastectomy, and I had node involvement so I also had chemotherapy and radiation. Because I was Her2/neu+ I had a year of Herceptin treatments. My last treatment is in two weeks. Herceptin was approved not that long ago to use in treatment for eary stage Her/2neu+ breast cancer. I would assume your friend will be having that part of her treatments. There are many treatments available to us and there are many many survivors. I'm glad to hear she's getting a second opinion, I think that's so important. I wish your friend the best. 4 years ago 100% 1 Vote
